Overview

GFI LanGuard enables users to discover and manage mobile devices such as phones or tablets through the Mobile Device Management Source. This article describes the process of setting up Microsoft Office 365 as the Mobile Device Management Source.

Diagnosis

The device discovery can identify any device connected to the Microsoft Office 365 but the vulnerability assessment is only available for the following operating systems:

• Apple iOS
• Google Android
• Windows Phone 

NOTE: Working with Microsoft Office 365 requires .NET Framework 4.5. GFI LanGuard provides the wizard to install .NET 4.5 automatically whilst configuring a new Mobile Device Management Source with Office 365.

Solution

1. Launch GFI LanGuard.
2. Go to Configuration > Mobile Devices and select Add Mobile Device Management Source.
   
   
   
3. Select Microsoft Office 365 on the Type drop-down menu then enter the Server Name and credentials.
   

   NOTE: The specified account needs to be a global administrator on Office 365.

    
   
4. Set to refresh mobile device information by scheduling an audit.
   Optional: Place a checkmark on Exclude Mobile Devices to ignore mobile devices while processing the audit then click Next.
   
   
5. Select or unselect the accounts to manage and click Finish.
   
   

Testing

The scan for the added source will start automatically, go to the Activity Monitor tab to view mobile device scan activity.
