Overview
A started remediation job is unable to be stopped in the 'Running' state.
This article provides information on how to stop the already running remediation.
Solution
The Remediation or Custom Software deployment regularly can be stopped only while the remediation status is still 'Scheduled' or 'Awaiting start'.
The already running remediation needs to complete, this LanGuard function is designed this way. Once the job completes, the deployment can be removed using the Uninstall Applications section under Remediation Center.
If you urgently need to stop the remediation that is still in the 'Running' state, as a workaround you have to stop the remediation manually on the client computer(s). Once this is done, reconnect the GFI LanGuard server with the backend database to update the remediation jobs status:
- Launch the GFI LanGuard Console.
- Go to Configuration > Database Maintenance options > Database backend settings.
- Re-check the Windows Authentication or re-enter the SQL credentials.
- Click Apply.
- In the pop-up window click Yes to stop all scans in progress and wait for the database to reconnect with GFI LanGuard.
- Press OK.
Note: Following these steps stops all scans in progress.
Testing
GFI LanGuard should stop Remediation jobs that were running, verify the status in the Remediate tab under the Remediation Jobs section.
