Overview
The GFI LanGuard displays the below error message in the Remediation Jobs tab when patching a Mac computer:
installer: Must be run as root to install this package.

SOLUTION
The GFI LanGuard requires the root user to be enabled in order to scan for software updates. Follow the process in the article below to enable it:
GFI LanGuard requires the root user to be enabled in order to scan for software updates.
- GFI LanGuard Version 12.1 or later: Sudo or Root credentials for the Linux computer’s package manager application. Note that cloned root account is not supported.
You can quickly Enable the root user by opening Terminal.app and type this Shell command:
dsenableroot
CAUSE
The root user must be enabled in order to allow GFI LanGuard to deploy updates.
