Overview
The below error message is displayed when downloading the wsusscn2 from Program Updates.
Error while reading remote file
Root Cause
The downloading process takes more than 2 minutes, thus exceeding the waiting time.
Process
- Close the GFI LanGuard interface.
- Stop the GFI LanGuard Attendant service.
- Browse the folder C:\ProgramData\GFI\LanGuard XX\
- Edit the file toolcfg_updates.xml using the Notepad.
- Navigate to the section that begins with a
<Options>tag. - Add the following line:
<Option Name="ConnectionTimeout">600000</Option> - After making the appropriate changes, save the toolcfg_updates.xml file and close it.
- Start the GFI LanGuard Attendant service.
Note: The value specified represents the timeout number in milliseconds. 600000 milliseconds = 10 minutes.
