Overview
Client scanning is not working properly as one or more computers are showing up with "computer is not licensed" error in the scanning operations results.
Solution
"Computer is not licensed" error appears when the maximum number of computers allowed by the license has been reached. In such cases, LanGuard will not perform scans on any additional machines.
-
Launch GFI LanGuard Console and go to the Configuration-> Licensing.
-
Check the License type and License usage.
- Click Show details to check the actual usage - the number of different nodes licensed.
License usage shows the total number of licenses used, both on computers and on mobile devices, while License type shows how many of these licenses are bonus, exclusively for mobile devices.
-
If the number of licenses for your computers (not counting bonus nodes) is higher than the actual usage, it means this is a cosmetic display error; please follow the solution from the Error: 'License limit exceeded' Incorrectly Appears in the Console Overview Tab article.
-
Otherwise, you hit the license limit. If you do not plan to scan all the computers detected in your network, Disable Network Discovery as the unrelated machines might be detected and scanned in your environment. You can always add more computers to scan and patch later Using the Computer Tree Panel in LanGuard.
-
Remove previously scanned computers to release licenses or purchase additional seats for the GFI LanGuard.
