Overview
Scanning operations fail with the 'Full security applications audit failed' or give 'The patch definitions are outdated' scan errors.
Solution
The most common root cause for the scan error 'Full security applications audit failed' is the old version of LanGuard no longer receiving the updated definitions. Both errors can also be caused by outdated Program Updates. A permanent solution is:
- If you are not on the latest GFI LanGuard version, Upgrade your LanGuard server.
- Follow the instructions of Updating LanGuard Server Manually When Product Does Not Get Latest Definitions or Agents Do Not Update to perform a forced/clean Program Update.
Rerun the scan. If the error is still there, it is an environmental issue. In some cases, this is caused by a security tool blocking the copying or execution of files during LanGuard operations. Troubleshoot this with your security team based on the logs of security products used.
Testing
Repeat the scan and verify that errors are gone. If the issue persists, contact GFI LanGuard Support.
