Overview
You are noticing issues when antivirus or protection engine (Symantec, Webroot, etc.) is blocking GFI LanGuard services, disrupting operations, or triggers a real-time scan eating up CPU resources.
Solution
Real-time protection engines and anti-virus programs are known to severely hamper the operations of GFI LanGuard. This can lead to unexpected errors and failed operations, high CPU consumption by GFI LanGuard Attendant service (insatt.exe), and severely diminish GFI LanGuard’s scanning speed.
- Add the required real-time anti-virus engine exclusions.
- If you are experiencing high CPU consumption issues, additionally:
- Check the Patch Auto-download setting. If it is set to All patches, change it to Only needed patches.
- Verify whether the LanGuard server hardware requirements match your environment size.
