Overview
You've noticed that some computer objects have incorrect alternative credentials configured or have no password, but when you uncheck Authenticate using checkbox, the change is not saved, and the incorrect credentials remain.
Solution
The issue is commonly caused by incorrect settings for one of the parent attribute groups.
The computer objects having issues can inherit settings from one of the attribute groups configured in the Computer Tree, overriding any changes to the computer authentication settings.
- Launch the LanGuard console, go to the Dashboard tab, locate the individual computer in the Computer Tree, and right-click to open Properties.
- Check the Attributes to see what attributes are configured or inherited for the computer, and check the corresponding groups for misconfigured alternative credentials. Fix the misconfiguration or remove the computer from the corresponding group.
- Additionally, check the OU of the computer for the misconfigured credentials.
Testing
Configure correct alternative credentials for the computer(s) and verify that the changes are saved. If the issue persists, contact GFI LanGuard Support.
