You are trying to push agents to any new laptops. Due to a change in the working model, computers are on a VPN now, and they keep doubling up and taking two licenses.
LanGuard resolves an IP address to the fully qualified domain name (and name to IP), and the IP/name resolving mismatch can lead to the computers being added in as duplicates if network discovery is enabled.
In the VPN environment, it is recommended to disable network discovery and then delete the superfluous computers.
While preventing duplicates' appearance, disabling network discovery will lead to new computers not be added automatically. To alleviate this, you can synchronize your computer tree with Active Directory if it is up to date or schedule a periodic network discovery scan to find new computers on your network.
Our product team is working on a cloud-based management server project to address the work from home model demands. You can find related information, join the conversation, and add any thoughts on the Align LanGuard with the new WFH reality forum thread.
