Troubleshooting GFI LanGuard Dashboard Loading Issue After Upgrading to Version 12.11

Overview

After upgrading to GFI LanGuard version 12.11, you may experience an issue where the dashboard tab is stuck in a loading state, displaying a continuous spinning wheel and never fully loading.  Alternatively, you may face an issue with the Computer Tree not loading properly, or disappearing/failing to show items after applying grouping changes. These problems are caused by an issue with the `FrameworkLib.dll` file in the software's installation directory.

Solution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Stop the Attendant service and close the LanGuard console.
  2. Backup the `FrameworkLib.dll` file from the installation directory.
  3. Download the archive attached to this article.
  4. Go to the downloaded file's properties and unblock the file before extracting the dll file.
  5. Replace the original `FrameworkLib.dll` file with the extracted dll file.
  6. Restart the Attendant service and relaunch the console. The dashboard should now load correctly.
