LanGuard 12.4 fails to download or install Windows patch definitions or vulnerability definitions. You have attempted manual upgrades as well as a fresh install. Program updates are failing with "incomplete transfer" error.

Solution

The issue you are facing is likely caused by an outdated file in the Update folder, in order to resolve this issue kindly navigate to C:\ProgramData\GFI\LanGuard 12\Update​and delete the file lnss12updateinfo.xml​ - this is the mentioned outdated file.

In case the folder is empty, initiate a patches update from Configurations>Program Updates> Check for Updates > Next > Update all > Next, this will populate the update folder, wait for the file to appear and stop the scan, delete the lnss12updateinfo.xml​ file, then initiate a new scan.
