Why does LanGuard Show that Computer Requires Reboot after it Already Rebooted?

Overview

LanGuard has patched a server, and it already rebooted several, but the LanGuard console still reports that the server needs to be rebooted.

Solution

The status of a computer would normally be updated after a fresh scan is done after the remediation job. You can configure this to happen automatically through a patch verification scan if you are using agents and auto-remediation, or run a separate scan as described in Why are Reports not Matching to What Was Installed the Previous Day? article.

There may also be issues with saving the scan results to the database if it has run out of available space since the information to update the console is retrieved from there. Please check the space and then review your current settings using the recommendations from our Maintaining the SQL Database used by LanGuard article.

Testing

Rescan the target computer. If the issue persists, contact GFI LanGuard Support.
