Overview

Suddenly end-users are getting pop-up messages "Warning!! GFI LanGuard is now performing administrative tasks...", even though these notifications are disabled in the auto-remediation configuration.

Solution

The common reason for the LanGuard not recognizing that warning notifications are disabled is an issue with the backend database since the settings are stored there. There may be problems connecting to the database, or it may have run out of space and got deadlocked.

Please review and follow the recommendations on Maintaining the SQL Database used by LanGuard.

Also, it is possible that over time your environment grew, and you may verify the GFI LanGuard Minimum System Requirements for the deployment of your scale.

Testing

Verify that messages no longer pop-up during the remediation operations. If the issue persists, contact GFI LanGuard Support.
