Why does Vulnerability Still Show Up for a Number of Computers after Exclusion / Ignoring?

Overview

A missing patch or vulnerability is configured to be ignored for a group of machines or the entire network tree, yet it still shows up for a number of computers in the dashboard. Or vulnerabilities still appear after exclusion in a scanning profile.

Solution

When you Configure LanGuard to Ignore Missing Patch or Vulnerability or Exclude Specific Vulnerabilities in Scanning Profile, the changes will be reflected in the dashboard after one of the scans with Vulnerability detection options is completed. The Dashboard would still display the excluded patch or vulnerability for the machines which information wasn't updated by such a scan.

To update the information, run a scan that detected the missing patch or vulnerability in the first place, or perform a new manual scan using Full Scan or Full Vulnerability Assessment profile.

Testing

Once the scan finishes, verify that the ignored patch or vulnerability is no longer displayed. If the issue persists, contact GFI LanGuard Support.
